Sitting here in Boston. Freezing. Freezing. Freezing. Definitely have my tee shirts double layered today- But the sun is out, and the sky is blue.

If you haven't had a chance to check it out yet, our newest tee shirt is up on our online store, and will soon be available at out retailers around boston, Just in time for saint patty's day. We have also switched our tee shirt manufacturers to a company called next level. Don't worry...they are still just as soft as ever, but they have a little more weight and a little more structure...Overall, they look better. They also run a touch bigger that the alternative apparel tees, so they aren't so "skinny guy". We have had an awesome response so far, and we hope that you all love 'em too.

We are also proud to announce that this summer J. Newbury is gonna be available right by the beach, in lovely Narragansett and Newport RI. So after your long day in the sand, and your epic surf day, you can relax at the bon view, have a beer, and grab a new favorite tee shirt. We will disclose the names of our retailers soon!

Until next time,

J. signing off

Oh man. It's been a long, long time since our last blog post...

However, there has been a lot going on in our studio. The J. Newbury team has been hard at work to develop the latest tee to add to our collection. We were commissioned by thrillist.com to come up with a tee shirt inspired by the old Scotch and Sirloin ads featuring the '85-'86 Celtics. While at first I though this was a little bit strange and obscure...the delicious, creative juices started to flow...and I time traveled back to many a dinner at the S&S in Syracuse NY.

While (arguably) the most famous location was within the Boston Garden, I had a feeling the restaraunts both shared a few commonalities...

What afterall, is more indulgent than some aged scotch and a prime cut? I thought this tied in well with the whole J. Newbury- "good life" mentality. After Jon and I bounced a few ideas back and forth, this is what we arrived at. A shirt that longs to be as legendary as Larry and leaves you thirsty for the goods.

The "Legend" tee is done in our traditional, outrageously high DPI (dots per inch) black, with Irish Green detailing. The tee itself is a fresh, crisp white- and picks up all the fine hand drawn pen and ink detailing that only J. Newbury delivers. The fork sports a thrillist.com logo, the steak knife a J. Newbury logo, and the lable on the bottle features some very legendary numbers from 1985-'86. A limited run were produced, so get 'em while they're hot...or cold. We hope you all will enjoy this tee, and take a little sip of history when you do.
It leaves us asking one question...
What's for dinner tonight? Scotch?

my view from my paddleboard...

Our studio. Don't know if you can see the floor, but it's made out of 100% reclaimed wood....
Hello all. This past weekend J. Newbury participated in JP Open Studios. Open studios is a way for local artists to show off their work and gain a little publicity, all while having a really good time.

We opened up our studio space at 11 Green street in JP to the public, and walked around quite a bit ourselves. I picked up a few awesome pieces of photography and some watercolor, but my big score were some rare LP's that I snagged from a yard sale. We decked the place out with tee shirts and hats, photography by Dana Jack, custom carpentry by Brad Warren and of course, good wine and beer (not sure if we're allowed to do that, but whatever, its already over sooo...).

I would like to thank everyone that stopped by...you all made it that much better.

Looking into doing some other shows in a week or two. Will keep you all posted.

Cheers.
